Walid Maalej studied computer science at the Technische  Universität München (TUM), and the National University of Singapore (NUS). He also has a degree in Technology Management from the Center for Digital Technology and Management, an institution of the Bavarian Elite Network.
Walid published several papers and served as program or organization committee of national and international conferences in the fields Software Engineering, Product Development and Project Management and Knowledge Engineering. Walid gained practical experience in these fields  during his work for several companies including mediawave internet solutions, Siemens (Germany and Singapore), TCW management consulting, Deutsche Telecom and Rohde & Schwarz.
